Life-Rage

I made a driving no-no yesterday. I needed to turn around to get back on the previous road. I patiently waited while two cars drove past and then proceeded to make my move. As I was just getting flipped around, a car blared its horn at me. I slammed on my breaks and and waved my hand to signal my apologies. The young girl behind the wheel gave me that all-too-familiar go to you-know-where-look and her mouth opened to reveal some very obvious obscenities. I waved at her again and let her pass. Now, to my own defense, she was not driving down that street when I began my move, but had taken one of those screeching turns onto that road at the last minute, and decided to accelerate at 90 miles an hour. And yet, it became my fault. As I attempted to shrug off my annoyance, and that little lump that forms in the back of your throat as you consider the potential ramifications of such a situation, I hear my 4 year old’s tiny voice ask, “Why was she honking at you?” “I don’t know,” I said, “some people are just very impatient and angry inside.” But, it did get me thinking about why people are so seemingly angry and impatient, particularly in the car. Now referred to as road rage. We’ve all be victims of it and, let’s be honest, have probably laid on our own horns a few times, but my experience on the road is one that has me considering scripture. Matthew 24:12 says ,”Because of the increase in wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” I think we can all safely say, “The love of most has grown cold,” especially when referring to drivers that often share, or don’t share, the road with us. People leave their houses in the morning, hair-trigger tempers just looking for an opportunity to flare, for a reason to transfer their emotional energy on someone else- perhaps to be released of it, if only for a short time, or perhaps because, “The love of most has grown cold.” Let’s face it, Christian or athiest, liberal or conservative, wickedness has indeed increased. Our viewpoints of what consists as wickedness will most surely differ, but we all are shocked, grieved, and horrified by some of the news realities surrounding us in our culture. I think it’s also safe to say that cynicism has become the order of the day. I’d like to know what reason people would give for this increased wickedness and negativity that surrounds our lives. In a nation that has become increasingly defiant of the powers that be, that has set aside more and more rules, more and more moral absolutes in the name of “pursuing happiness” and “freedom”, we seem to be constructing our very own jail cell. Each affair, each abortion, each shot, each hit, each act of sexual immorality, each child abused, each credit card, each time a prayer is quarantined from the public, each cross that is torn down all represent a bar, and I, along with many others, are starting to feel the claustrophobia of a nation closing itself in. The Bible says in Galatians,”Do not use your freedom to indulge in the sinful nature.” Perhaps, as we seek to engage freedom, we find ourselves held captive by the pain the bondage in our lives creates. If we really can and should act however we will, after all, you only live once, right, then why is it that random acts of kindness, love, and joy are disappearing into the no-holds-barred Abyss? Why is it that this “freedom” everyone thinks is so great comes with such a hefty price tag? Perhaps because freedom is the ability to do what you ought, not the right to do whatever you want. Perhaps true freedom is found only when we establish rules and boundaries and discipline ourselves to live inside them. Discipline? Ourselves? Why would I ever do that? The Bible says that “A person without self-control is like a city with broken down walls.” What good are walls surrounding a city if they are not built up and fortified in order that they may serve to protect those inside? In order that they may establish a boundary line to, in fact, proclaim the city and create a sense of belonging, permanence, and purpose. Crumbling walls represent exhaustion, loneliness, pain and defeat. An established city screams, “Victory!” The Bible also says that those who ignore discipline are “fools…who come to the brink of utter ruin. will die for lack of discipline, led astray by own great folly.” It goes on to say, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” To discipline and hold ourselves accountable will be painful initially, but we are promised a HARVEST of rightousness and peace. Peace. Ahhhh. Just typing it is refreshing. And maybe, that kind of peace, is just what this society needs.

Congress To Provide $5 Billion Viagra To A Limp Porn Industry?

Excuse the pun. Or don’t excuse it. I don’t care. But are you freaking kidding me? I can’t even say, “How much worse can it get?” because it can’t, I guess unless they actually give it to them. Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis are going to muster up the gumption to request a $5 BILLION dollar bailout from you and I. Only you and I don’t get to decide, because we have a VERY liberal congress making this decision. Once on the side of conservativism and anti-socialist policies, Bush’s eleventh-hour move to the socialism side has me afraid that we just might see the day we give money to this filthy, money-sucking, family-wrecking industry. I guess you can tell what I think of this proposal. Fine- this is America, land of the free… to-look-at whatever-you-like and to engage whatever behaviors you do so choose, but I cannot even begin to fathom why taxpayers should have to fund something so taboo and something so contradictory to so many of our morals. Fine- I ‘ll smile and nod as Uncle Sam takes my money to pay for cars that I won’t even drive, and I may even look the other way as they pay for people who buy houses too big for their budget, but this takes the proverbial cake! Socialism for the sake of anything isn’t right, but socialism for sex addicts and dirty old men? Oh, what a wonderful world.

Obama and Khalidi

I watched, jaw-dropped, this week as another Obama association was exposed- this time Khalidi, spokesman for the PLO- that’s the Palestinian Liberation Organization. Not just an association- friends. This man, an absolute anti-Jewish, anti-American, hate-filled person, frequent dinner partner with Obama, a recipient of funds from Obama, and a fundraiser for Obama. Now one must ask himself, what motive would an anti-American, PLO member have in supporting an American candidate? Now imagine if McCain were to have the same connections come to light- he would be ripped to shreds. I don’t care who you’re voting for, but the obvious bias that allows Obama a permanent “get out of jail free” card is stunning. Wake up you guys! You are preparing to elect a man who has shown strong leanings that are anti-Israel, anti-Christian, anti-life, and anti-American. Quick, someone inject these people with a shot of eye-opener! I believe that if we elect this man, we are ensuring an absolute rejection of Israel when the crap hits the fan, not to mention he will surely encourage, possibly require land-for-peace deals. For any of you who appreciate democracy, you can understand the danger this would pose as we would further distance ourselves from our one friend in the middle east and break our promise to support democracy throughout the world. For those of you who believe the Bible, you understand the certain judgment sure to come on this land according to Genesis 12:3. Either way- trouble is brewing. For more information on this subject, I would recommend reading ‘Two Nations Under God’. This will help all understand the importance of supporting Israel.

A Kingdom Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand

You will notice that I generally approve all comments because I want those visiting my page who are genuine people, still trying to learn and trying to make the most educated decision this election year to see the true colors of those who are voting for Obama. Those of you casting the ballot Barack’s way are supposedly the party of peace and not war, free-thinkers, love and hope, CHANGE, right? You have proven to be anything but. You don’t want free thinkers, you want everyone to think like you- or you accuse them of being racist, bigots, or intolerant. You are the MOST hypocritcal group of people. Peace not war? You are causing a civil war between those who see things your way and those who disagree. “A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.” If we, the American people, are divided within, so viciously, we cannot and will not stand. I realize there are those on the right who are extremists, but never have I seen such uniformed hate as I do coming from the left. And they will go to any lengths- lying is now the rule rather than the exception, you’re racist if you choose to exercise your free vote and vote for McCain, God forbid you actually say you’re voting for him, and these horrific smears and hate-campaigns set out to destroy innocent, good people like Sarah Palin, or Joe the Plumber, or even myself as I practice my first amendment right to free speech by blogging. Joe never did anything to you guys, yet you are hell-bent on destroying his life- why? Because your “messiah” exposed himself? And Sarah Palin…what in the world did she ever do to deserve the treatment she has gotten except to disagree with leftist mob-rule? I’m praying for the reporter, Barbara West, who was actually brilliant and disciplined enough to ask the hard questions, the questions that have needed to be asked, of Biden. I’m afraid of what this radical left group will try to do to her for simply repeating that which Barack Obama had stated, his plan to “spread the wealth around” and asking how that is not Marxism. I hope you have all seen the look on Biden’s face as he, so arrogantly asked, “Is that a joke?” He was stunned that this media personality wasn’t fainting over him and his “leader” as so many have done before- she was actually doing her job. Imagine that. She along with so many others who have dared to speak out, such as myself, will be crucified in liberal blogs and the liberal media, I’m sure, but I respect her all the more. The anger coming from this group is almost breathtaking and I sit here stunned at the hate comments I receive. I’m accused of being racist… prove it! The fact that so many of you accuse me of it, proves that reverse racism is larger than we could’ve ever thought in this nation. But you know what I respect? The person, whatever color, who gets on TV and is not afraid to stand alone and say, “I don’t care what color the man is, I don’t agree with his policies and I will not vote for him.” I’m learning that in this day and age, that takes strength and conviction and I thank you guys for it. For those of you so filled with hate and anger, you do not represent yourselves properly or in a positive light whatsoever, rather you further polarize the good people of this nation who believe in America’s goodness and perserverance. I am voting for John McCain, but that is because he will defend life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness- the things that make this nation great! God have mercy on those of you who have nothing better to do than try to cut other people’s spirits in living this life.

This Week on Hal Lindsey

“On this week’s edition of “The Hal Lindsey Report,” I’ll discuss Joe the Plumber’s impromptu encounter with Barack the Candidate. Actually, it was a friendly, relaxed 5 minute discussion between a citizen and the man who wants to be his president. But if you listen to the mainstream media, you’d think Joe the Plumber lied his way into a private meeting, accosted Senator Obama, then held him in a half-nelson while shouting profane obscenities. News organizations sent teams of investigators and reporters to expose this dangerous impostor who had the temerity to challenge Obama’s economic proposals while standing in front of his own house. What nerve! What a threat to the future of the American liberal utopia! Apparently editors across the country were bellowing: “This man must be stopped!”

It’s too bad the ‘unbiased’ mainstream media hasn’t put a tenth as much effort into exposing Tony Rezko and William Ayers as they have expended on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher. I have an idea! Let’s float a rumor that Osama bin-Laden is a closet conservative and is about to release a new video criticizing the Socialist leanings of certain American political personalities. The press will have him exposed and cornered in 24 hours!

For some reason, the American Left believes that everything in Europe (especially France) is better than what we have right here in the U.S.A. Of course, very few of them are actually moving there permanently, but maybe they should think twice. (By the way, it just dawned on me that Barbra Streisand and Alec Baldwin didn’t make good on their threats to leave the country if Bush was re-elected. You can’t trust anyone nowadays!)” -Hal Lindsey

Follow-Up to McCain Backer Victimized

So, I write this blog last night expressing my concern over the fact the Obama had not reached out to the McCain supporter ”victim” that had been attacked, and I wake up to the same story this morning that everyone else is hearing- she made the whole thing up! Isn’t that wonderful. She certainly isn’t representing those of us who genuinely support McCain and those of us who call ourselves conservatives, but this is a bipartisan issue. It does no one any good for extremists on any side to do such abhorent things. I’m disappointed in her actions, but, to the dismay of many of my lovely commentators, I am not sorry! None of us last night knew this was a lie, and Obama did not contact her when we thought this was factual. So- still he is still a disgrace, right along with the girl who perpetrated this whole ugly ordeal.

By the way, for those of you who continually call me racist because I do not support Obama, I think you might want to look in the mirror. Is it not possible for me to be both black and a McCain supporter? Imagine that. McCain Backer Victimized

Just a short post about the cess pool that is the group supporting Barack Obama. I realize not every Obama supporter would commit this violent attrocity, most are just misguided and, to be blatant, ignorant, but the notice that we do not have McCain supporters carving ‘M’s’ in people’s faces. For those of you who are unaware of the story, a lady was mugged at an ATM, and when the attacker noticed a McCain sticker on the back of her vehicle, he carved a ‘B’ on her face! Now, McCain has already been in contact with this lady and her family, but Obama? Nope. This is proof he has blue blood running through his veins and has no ounce of humanity in him. Why could he not come out and say, “I do not condone this or anyone who would commit such an act. I am not interested in the support of those who are capable of such hate and my prayers are with this girl and her family at this time. Thank you for your commitment to the political arena of our country by serving the McCain campaign and please get better. We will find this criminal and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law!” Why would Barack condemn these actions when his very best friend is William Ayers, a national terrorist, right? He has no moral code! Just another reason he makes my stomach churn!
